The Training Program
The Leistritz Extrusion Academy optimally combines intensive practical training with theoretical expertise - from practice for practice.
In various multi-day training modules, the theoretical knowledge is directly illustrated and then put into practice in our well-equipped labs. Tailored to the respective level of knowledge of the participants, individual seminars are conducted by experienced experts in all aspects of the extrusion process.
We offer the Extrusion Academys in several languages.
We also offer the theoretical contents as a virtual training module in the Extrusion Academy ONLINE.
Extrusion Academy BASIC
In this training participants will learn more about the basics of extrusion technology and the entire extrusion process. During three days the knowledge gained in the theoretical part is subsequently tried out and implemented practically in mini workshops in small groups. Focus topics are:
- Extruder mechanics
- Control unit
- Dosing unit
- Pelletizing
- Trouble shooting
- Active maintenance

Extrusion Academy PRO
Building on the basic module Extrusion Academy BASIC, the three-day Leistritz Extrusion Academy PRO offers participants a deeper insight into the extrusion process with the twin screw extruder. In this training module, application-oriented solutions are developed and the factors influencing product quality are examined in more detail. The focus is on:
- Plant & process optimization
- Energy balance
- Material preparation
- Extruder & connected aggregates
- Implementation of the theoretical knowledge in the practical part

PHARMA Extrusion Academy
Extrusion Technology is of growing interest for the pharmaceutical industry in the production of solid dosage forms. Here the interplay of formulation, process, technology, plant engineering and control unit is an important factor. These topics are examined in detail during the Extrusion Academy PHARMA. The focus is set on the process from formulation screening to production:
