HIGH-QUALITY FILMS WITH MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS

Film extrusion with extruders from Leistritz

Packing & presenting goods

In this process, the granulate is melted in the extruder and fed into a high-quality calender by a wide slot die.

The result: a film of the highest quality and precision.

Calender films are often used for applications where high transparency and gloss are required, such as packaging.

With PET calender film, you enjoy the benefits of high flexibility, as both recyclate and blends can be processed. Thanks to our special vacuum technology, IV degradation remains minimal.

Materials at a glance:

  • PP Film
  • PS Film
  • PET Film
  • PLA Film (bio based)

Leistritz extruders are also the perfect choice for the production of foamed PET packaging, such as coffee cups.

Packaging & protecting goods:
Biaxially oriented films

Biaxially oriented films are characterized by their excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength and puncture resistance.

They are often used in packaging where strength and barrier properties are critical, such as in the packaging industry for longer-life products.

Materials at a glance:

  • BOPET
  • BOPET-G (shrink film)
  • BOPA
  • BOPP
  • BOPE

Providing goods with functions:
Films for technical applications

In technical applications, films often perform far more than just a decorative or protective function. They can also contribute to improving the performance, safety or sustainability of products.

Examples of films for technical applications

  • Battery separator foils (BSF): BSFs are an important component of lithium-ion batteries. They prevent the electrodes from short-circuiting and ensure that the current only flows in one direction.

  • Solar and monitor films: Solar and monitor films are used to increase the efficiency and protection of solar cells and monitors.

  • PVB films: PVB films are used in safety glass to prevent glass breakage. These are used in windscreens, for example.

  • BOPP-C films: BOPP-C films are used in capacitors. They are thin and tear-resistant and can help to improve the energy efficiency of capacitors.
