This is a very effective cooling process without air or water. The temperature of the hot melt is reduced by means of a chilled roll. The melt is cooled down very quickly, with possible flow rates of up to 100 kg/h. After cooling, the product is reduced to flakes by means of a kibbler. The subsequent milling procedure can be done on line by directly adding a hammer mill or a conical mill. In this way one obtains a complete process "from the powder to the powder".
